Assistant Curator/Curator


  • Conceptualise and develop storyline and themes for permanent and special exhibitions in consultation with the SCCC Board and relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct and publish research on different aspects of the Chinese community in Singapore in the areas of arts, culture and heritage
  • Work with research institutions, think tanks and other partners to organise talks
  • Conduct guided tours for the abovementioned permanent and special exhibitions and/or train SCCC’s docents for the same purpose
  • Administer and source for loans and donations from other museums and private collectors, as well as new artefact acquisitions (where relevant)
  • Work closely with the SCCC estates team as well as other museum professionals including designers, conservators and technicians to set up and project manage SCCC’s exhibitions
  • Coordinate with other SCCC teams for exhibition related public programming and marketing
  • Other duties as assigned by CEO, SCCC


  • Degree preferably in any of the following fields: Singapore History, Chinese Studies, Southeast Asian Studies, Anthropology or Sociology
  • At least 3 years of relevant research or curatorial work experience would be advantageous
  • Strong passion, interest and knowledge in Chinese history and culture
  • Good time and project management skills
  • Able to work independently and also be a good team player
  • Bilingual with strong proficiency in Mandarin preferred to liaise with the Mandarin-speaking public

Technical Officer (Audio/Visual)


Main Duties:

  • Assist in tracking and managing event calendars to maximize bookings and utilisation of facilities
  • Assist in AV team’s manpower (full time/ part time) allocation and supervise daily technical operational and administrative work
  • Revise and evaluate risk assessment procedure so as to ensure compliance of safety procedure and safe operations at all SCCC venues
  • Plan, prepare and setup equipment (AV/prop/ furniture) required for events/ venues
  • Plan/ Maintain AV inventory and coordinate the AV maintenance schedule so as to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the venues
  • Trouble-shooting of AV equipment
  • Co-ordinate the logistics movement with internal/external stakeholders
  • Operate vertical personnel platform (personnel lift) and to rig and focus lightings/ speakers
  • Provide cross-functional support for all venues of hire

Administration Support:

  • Familiar with the booking system for the daily administration and booking of venues and AV equipment
  • Assist the Assistant Manager/ Senior Manager in managing events, planning of resources allocation and work schedule
  • Monitor and update equipment stock and inventory
  • Maintain general housekeeping to upkeep designated venues


  • Degree / Diploma in Electrical/ AV Engineering, Estate Management or Event Management
  • Minimum 4 – 6 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and preferably with AutoCAD Knowledge
  • Experienced in programming/handling digital sound mixing console and digital lighting console, AV automation controls such as Extron and Crestron
  • Licensed to operate vertical personnel platform (personnel lift) and to rig and focus lightings/ speakers
  • Team player and able to communicate with people from all levels
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Required to work on evenings, weekends and public holidays to support events
