Senior Manager/Manager, Finance

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SCCC’s day-to-day financial accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting;
  • Oversee SCCC’s budgetary processes, track & monitor revenue, budget utilisation and cash flow;
  • Review, formulate and administer sound accounting practices, policies and internal controls to ensure compliance to financial procedures and requirements;
  • Prepare and manage statutory audits, internal audits and other statutory submissions to relevant authorities;
  • Monitor and administer investments, execute trade orders and perform settlements;
  • Review policies and procedures for asset management to ensure effective and efficient management of assets;
  • Provide secretariat support to finance & investments and audit board committees.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent professional qualifications;
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant finance experience, preferably with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position;
  • Relevant experience in management accounting and familiarity with public sector budgeting and procurement procedures would be an added advantage;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders and partners;
  • Strong conceptual & analytical thinking skills, high level of initiative, drive, and resourcefulness;
  • Work outside of regular office hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, when required;
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Management.

Assistant Curator/Curator (Contract)

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualise and develop storyline and themes for permanent and special exhibitions in consultation with the SCCC Board and relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct and publish research on different aspects of the Chinese community in Singapore in the areas of arts, culture and heritage
  • Work with research institutions, think tanks and other partners to organise talks
  • Conduct guided tours for the abovementioned permanent and special exhibitions and/or train SCCC’s docents for the same purpose
  • Administer and source for loans and donations from other museums and private collectors, as well as new artefact acquisitions (where relevant)
  • Work closely with the SCCC estates team as well as other museum professionals including designers, conservators and technicians to set up and project manage SCCC’s exhibitions
  • Coordinate with other SCCC teams for exhibition related public programming and marketing
  • Other duties as assigned by CEO, SCCC

Requirements

  • Degree preferably in any of the following fields: Singapore History, Chinese Studies, Southeast Asian Studies, Anthropology or Sociology
  • At least 3 years of relevant research or curatorial work experience would be advantageous
  • Strong passion, interest and knowledge in Chinese history and culture
  • Good time and project management skills
  • Able to work independently and also be a good team player
  • Bilingual with strong proficiency in Mandarin preferred to liaise with the Mandarin-speaking public

Senior Manager/Manager, Marketing Communications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement SCCC’s marketing and public relations strategy to promote SCCC’s profile and programmes;
  • Introduce innovative marketing and public relations initiatives across different media and digital platforms to promote SCCC’s programmes;
  • Conduct media monitoring and develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of SCCC’s marketing and public relations efforts;
  • Work closely with various SCCC’s departments as well as external stakeholders and vendors in planning, organising and executing marketing initiatives;
  • Develop marketing and corporate collaterals including programme brochures, annual reports, newsletters, presentations etc.;
  • Develop content for corporate website, social media platforms including Facebook, WeChat and Instagram and other online communication channels;
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with various print, broadcast and digital media to enhance SCCC’s profile and promote the centre’s programmes and activities;
  • Plan and organise media conferences and handle all media queries; and
  • Draft press releases, messages and speeches for SCCC’s programmes and events.

Requirements

  • A good university degree, preferably in marketing, communications or journalism;
  • Minimum 6- 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the arts and culture industry;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good command of English and Chinese;
  • Good understanding of the key communication platforms and strong fundamentals in content development and corporate branding;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders and partners;
  • Strong conceptual & analytical thinking skills, high level of initiative, drive, and resourcefulness;
  • Strong passion, interest and knowledge in Chinese arts and culture;
  • Work experience in a public relations agency and/or prior marketing communications experience would be an added advantage;
  • Prepared to work outside of regular office hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, when required; and
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Management.
