Fascinated by the grandeur of Chinese opera’s costumes? Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre is hosting a photo exhibition on Chinese opera based on a selection of 17 images from the recently launched book, Flying Sleeves – the Grandeur of Chinese Opera.
The Flying Sleeves – the Grandeur of Chinese Opera is a project by Dr Chua with students and teachers from the Institute of Technical Education College West. It contains over 360 images of opera performances, showing unique features of various opera genres and how opera has evolved in Singapore over the years. Most of the pictures were shot by Dr Chua, who is a senior consultant at the National Dental Centre Singapore and clinical associate professor at the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Dentistry.
Come and be intrigued by this performing art form!
