Lunar New Year Greetings from Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and three Cultural Medallion recipients

Singapore, 16 January 2017 – To celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) has specially created a beautifully-designed limited edition greeting card and two red packets. SCCC is honoured to have invited Cultural Medallion recipients, Mr Lee Hock Moh, Mr Koh Mun Hong and Mr Tan Kian Por, to provide their paintings in this endeavour.

As this is the Year of the Rooster, SCCC has showcased on one red packet design, Mr Lee Hock Moh’s painting, Bliss, which vividly portrays a happy family of rooster, hen and chicks amongst clusters of orchids.

The other red packet design features Mr Koh Mun Hong’s Harmony & Prosperity, which depicts orchids, small chrysanthemums and two doves basking in the warmth and exuberance of Spring.

For the greeting card, SCCC has featured Mr Tan Kian Por’s Auspicious Clouds. On a background of polychromatic leaves that resemble mist and clouds are peonies in full bloom in Spring, symbolising prosperity in an exquisite, graceful composition.

SCCC will also be collaborating with other artists and arts and cultural groups to showcase unique local arts and culture through platforms like exhibitions, lectures, concerts and others.

The limited edition Lunar New Year red packets are excellent collectables and gifts for family and friends. To obtain them, members of the public are invited to participate in our Facebook and WeChat games and quizzes. Winners can collect a set of red packets at SCCC at 1 Straits Boulevard. The games and quizzes will take place between 16 January 2017 and 11 February 2017.
